This site asks you for nothing and follows you nowhere. What is written below is what happens anyway, because some of it always happens.
What the site records
Nothing you type. There are no accounts, no forms and no cookies.
Like every web server, the one hosting this site notes down the requests it receives. Those lines hold your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and the name of the browser you are using. The browser sends all of it on its own: no site can avoid receiving it.
It is there to keep the site running and to defend it from whoever attacks it, and for nothing else. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in keeping a service standing, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Nobody reads those lines, they are cross-referenced with nothing, and they go to no one.
The theme
Your choice between light and dark stays in your browser. It never reaches the server and never leaves your device: clear the site data and it is gone.
Who else sees anything
Nobody. The site loads nothing from anywhere else: the typefaces, the scripts and the images all live here, and your browser contacts no other server while you read it.
If you write
The link for reporting a problem opens your mail program: the message arrives at feedback@bodge.tools like any other email, and sits there until it is deleted. There is no form and no archive. Better not to put more about yourself in the message than the problem needs.
What is not here
No cookies. No statistics, ours or anybody else's. No social buttons. No advertising. No profile and no automated decisions. Nothing is sold or handed to anyone.
That is why there is no little window asking you to accept cookies: no consent is needed for something that is not done.
Your rights
What exists of you is an IP address inside the lines of a log, and there is no way of telling which one is yours. Without knowing who you are, nothing can be handed to you, corrected or deleted: the GDPR covers this case in Article 11 and does not require collecting more just to be able to identify you.
If you write, what remains of you is your email address, and that one can be read back, corrected or deleted whenever you like. Ask at privacy@bodge.tools and the answer comes within a month.
